"Different Strokes From Different Folks" Challenge

My goal is to paint and draw everyday, to improve with each new subject, to increase my comfort level with, and knowledge of, my instruments of art.

To move toward that goal, I have set myself the task of submitting a drawing to the "Different Strokes From Different Folks" (DSFDF) blog.

Karin Jurick periodically posts a challenge on the DSFDF blog. The resulting high quality submissions are numerous and the diverse artistic interpretations are fascinating. This is not a competition, there are no awarded prizes; this is simply a vehicle for personal artistic growth. The only external reward may be a "good job!" comment.

The drawing will be of the marble sculpture "A Companion of Diana." The photo of the sculpture was downloaded from the DSFDF blog. I anticipate that it will take me about 40 hours to complete the drawing. It will take me another 4 to 6 hours to photo, Photoshop, and upload.

A few artists have already submitted their work and the number of ways a subject can be interpreted remains profound.

I'll post an update with my submittal.

Bernard, Your blog is looking great! Congragulations on participating in your first DSFDF Challenge. I can tell you spent a good deal of time on your drawing and it shows. I also like the colors and composition in your painting Silverado Canyon very much.
